Unit 8

Reflections....

Subtle mind and visualization have been the two practices I have found to be most beneficial for myself. Subtle mind I often do when I need to focus, the simple breathing technique of focusing on inhaling and exhaling keeps me on track and concentrated. Visualizations, especially of landscapes are very relaxing making it easier to still my mind. Typically I feel refreshed and energized after practice.

 To foster mental fitness I plan to continue exercising with these two practices weekly and progress to more days and longer duration of each. When I feel secure and confident I will most likely take on the practices which are a bit more difficult for me personally so that I may evolve other aspects of mental fitness.

  1. I agree about visualization, it is the one that I find it most beneficially. It is a free vacation without the hassle. Using visualization has allow me travel to some of my favorite places which has allowed me to feel more relaxed and actually enjoy my crazy daily schedule.

  2. The practice of meditation is known to improve health. Mindfulness meditation is the act of focusing on the breath and being aware of thoughts and emotions as they arise, without reacting to them. I enjoy meditating, and the subtle mind practice is very close to my personal meditation practices. It allows me to calm the mind, and focus on my thoughts to embrace them, and deal with each one as it comes. I find a sense of peace with this exercise. I too will implement these practices throughout my life so I can continue to improve my health. I am so glad you have found these practices to be beneficial and I hope they continue to benefit you throughout your life.

    Blessings and light,
    Vanessa =-)
