Hello Everyone!
My first attempt at this relaxation technique last night was unsuccessful... I fell asleep! So I guess that means it worked? (: I tried again today and found it to be very relaxing and enjoyable. I have done these several times before in a stress management class and was always super excited for it.

Hey Maria,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, but understandable because I could have fell asleep too. This is the first time I did one of these relaxation exercises and I was very impressed. The control our mind has over our body is amazing. Glad to hear that you were able to stay awake the next time you did the relaxation exercise. :)
Maria,
ReplyDeleteI am having the same body response you are. I found myself relaxing, I even felt the blood moving around my body....but, after the exercise, I found myself exhausted...this exercise is supposed to make you feel energized, right?.....Let me know if you continue to fall asleep, .....
Maria,
ReplyDeleteI loved the exercise too! I can not do this one lying down. I will fall asleep every time. I sit up, that does help. Just don't try it while driving! I did however have the same feeling of exhaustion when I did this in the evening. When I did it on my lunch break at work, I was a bit tired at first but, the feeling of sleepy was quickly replaced with a happy energy after I got back to work. Let me know if that helps you. Blessed be.
Maria,
ReplyDeleteI would say that if you fell asleep during the exercise that it had the desired effect, sometimes our body has to loudly tell us when we need to rest and relax. For me the emotional release I recieved from the exercise had almost a detoxing effect. I really did enjoy it.

Maria,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that you fell asleep. You must of been really tired. I loved the voice on the recording so I focused on that.:-)
I enjoy meditation and yoga, so this was a nice break in the day for me. Meditation for me can be done anywhere. I can do it in the car (not driving) or walking in the park. It just makes my brain calm down.

Maria, to It doesn't always work the first time because it is a process. It took me a month to really get use to the meditation technique and that was with help from my yoga teacher. Try relaxing the body by closing your eyes and listen to nature dvds.
